Dr. Flowers served as the program evaluator for a National Science Foundation grant-funded project titled "Human-Centered Computing Scholars: Fostering a New Generation of Underrepresented and Financially Disadvantaged Researchers."
Abstract: Statistical results highlighting the impact of the S-STEM program on doctoral students suggest that S-STEM participants performed as well or better than students from other universities who did not participate in the S-STEM program. The multiyear evaluation study indicated that the S-STEM program supported the intellectual development of the computer science students.
